In Memory of

Winnie Harris

Winnie Harris, the beloved founder of Holly Street Garden, was a passionate advocate for community gardening and sustainability. Her dedication to transforming urban spaces into green havens has left an indelible mark on our community. Winnie’s vision was to create a space where neighbors could come together, grow their own food, and foster a sense of community.

Tragically, Winnie's life was cut short in 2017 when she was murdered in her home. Her untimely death was a significant loss to everyone who knew her and benefited from her work. Despite this, her legacy continues to inspire and guide the efforts of Holly Street Garden. We honor her memory by continuing the work she started and striving to make the garden a place of peace, growth, and unity.

Garden Beds

Our community garden offers individual garden beds for gardeners to grow their own vegetables, herbs, and flowers. These beds are available on a seasonal basis and provide a great opportunity to cultivate fresh, organic produce right in the heart of West Powelton.
